A hidden gem among GSMNP. This road is half paved and half gravel. A beautiful slow drive along the river with random waterfalls and wildlife. The road was not busy at all when we were there late … Full review by Fun4Me2Travel

Are the final four or so miles to the Trailhead or Smoky Mts. Institute at Tremont (from the main road), including the gravel part, hilly/curving/steep/narrow/ otherwise challenging to drive with a small sedan compact car? Thanks.

I drove my Honda Accord all the way to the end to the Middle Prong Trail. It has lots of pot holes but can be easily navigated with no problems.
