Later this year I am going to be upgrading to a GMG Pellet unit so I can hold long smokes and at a regulated temperature (without supervision). Don't get me wrong, I love this smoker and it has done a lot of burgers, meatloaf, chicken, pork, ribs, bacon, fatties, and more.

I called the manufacturer and they told me that the book that was inclosed was for gas smokers and not electric.We used the water pan as directed and the temp never reached the 100 that was required, the meat cooked by steam and was so dry.

I was worried that the temp may continue to rise and melt the cheese. I ended up turning off the smoker and replacing the wood tray with an Amazen pellet tray. This allowed me to keep the temps much lower.

Your Weber probes may not have been exposed to the moisture your Smoke Hollow produced. Also, if you have not done so, check your probes in boiling water (tip only) and ice water.

It seems to only want to stay on when I crank the knob, but it makes the temperature +300*. I have checked all the lines, fittings and whatnot.

WEBApr 23, 2007 · I also have a smoke hollow and I did my first smoke with it yesterday. I checked my gauge against boiling water and it was reading 200*. so I just tried to get my smoker gauge to 240* while doing the chix they seemed to get done alittle quick 1 3/4 hours but tasted great.
